1989: Timothy D. Ruiz founded TDR Technical Services.
1993: Tim Ruiz focused his energy and resources full-time into TDR Technical Services. It was Tim's vision at that time to provide owner representation services - something new to the construction industry.
One of TDR's first design projects was Phase II through V of the Factory Outlet Mall development in Osage Beach, MO, working for New Plan Realty Trust, New York, New York.
Soon, TDR Technical Services clientel included Citicorp, McDonald's Restaurants, Hardee's/Carl's Jr. Restaurant; serving as Project Managers in the development and support of special projects.
1995: TDR Technical Services incorporates becoming TDR Technical Services, Inc. and started offering restaurant design, development and construction services including the provisioning of all fixtures and production/sales equipment and signage. TDR successfully designed, built and furnished restaurants in Sarasota, FL, Granite City, IL, and several locations in the St. Louis Metropolitan area.
2001: TDR Technical Services re-organizes and returns to its core-objective to provide design, consulting, and project management services.
In response to the increased need for technology consultants, TDR Technical Services focused its offering on "telecommunication systems" (now, ICT) design and consulting services to provide design of inside/outside cable plant & infrastructure; video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems; audio/visual systems; digital signage systems; and, data center/server room design and operational support.
2003: Timothy D. Ruiz achieves the credential of RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer, ID #143212), endorsed and maintained under BISCI (www.bicsi.org). Mr. Ruiz is a member of BICSI, ASIS International and the local ASIS-StL Chapter, InfoComm International, NFPA, DSF (Digital Signage Federation), OSP (Outside Plant), and various other professional organizations.
2013: TDR Technical Services is certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE).
Timothy D. Ruiz has over 38 experience years in the building and facility design industry working with reputable consulting engineering firms in the St. Louis, MO and Charleston, WV metropolitans; involved in the design and development of water and wastewater treatment facilities (1976-1979); electrical lighting and power systems for data centers (large and small), educational (K-12 and higher-ED), institutional, medical, residential, and industrial facilities and applications (1979-2009); and telecommunication systems for data centers (large and small), educational (K-12 and higher-ED), federal government agency facilities, institutional, medical, residential facilities and applications (1977-2013). Mr. Ruiz has been actively designing "telecommunication systems" since 1977 where were known at that time as "special systems": The McDonnell-Douglas Tract III Data Center was one of the first in his experience time-line and his design was published in Electrical Consultant Magazine (1980).
